TELCO

TELCO is an Indian engineering and manufacturing company based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It is a subsidiary of the Tata Group and is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in India. It is the market leader in the commercial vehicle segment and is the third largest manufacturer of passenger vehicles in India.

TELCO was established in 1945 as a joint venture between Tata Sons and Daimler-Benz AG of Germany. It was the first company in India to manufacture locomotives and railway coaches. It has since diversified into the manufacture of a wide range of products, including trucks, buses, passenger cars, construction equipment, and defence vehicles.

TELCO has been a major supplier to the Indian Railways for over 70 years. It has supplied over 10,000 locomotives to the Indian Railways, making it the largest supplier of locomotives in the country. It has also supplied over 10,000 coaches to the Indian Railways, making it the second largest supplier of coaches in the country.

TELCO has also been involved in the development of several railway projects in India, including the Delhi Metro, Mumbai Metro, and Chennai Metro. It has also been involved in the development of the Dedicated Freight Corridor project, which is a major railway infrastructure project in India.
